Fixer in Barcelona

In journalism, a fixer is someone, often a local journalist, hired by a foreign correspondent to help arrange a story. They will most often act as a translator and guide, and will gain access to local interviews that the correspondent would not otherwise have access to.

In Barcelona the process of the independence is a large story with many characters, to understand what’s going on for a foreign journalist is not a easy job, for this reason the fixer is need it in order to simplified the job in a complex panorama where many facts come together.

1-0 is a date that will remain in memory for many years, brutal police action against “peaceful voters” I know, so many radicals infiltrated with peaceful voters try to provoke the police and they did right. 87€ million spent in “Copernico Operation” in Catalonia was defended by Interior Minister, Juan Ignacio Zoido in the Spanish Senate, probably the worst minister from 1978. Very sad that the respond of democratic govern is send the Police to a region which peaceful demonstrations has been show in the past years. Lack of political responsibility, no perspective and no offers of solution.

21-D Election day. The Popular Party obtained 4 parlamentareis seats not enough to have their own group in the Catalan parlament. So it seems the respond of the Catalan people is that the politicals applied by central government in Catalonia is not the right one.

Meanwhile Puigdemont is living in Belgium, Carles Puigdemont is aiming to reclaim his post as regional president after his separatist alliance defended its majority in December’s election. The problem is, there’s a warrant out for his arrest, the story has not end yet, this is a process in Catalonia that affect everyone in Europe somehow.

If you are interested to come to Barcelona and explain to your audience who is who in this process we can help you. In the last month we have been fixing and giving services to CNN, SVT, Canal + France and TRT World.
